Tiny World-Shippensburg, Pa

Have you ever been to Tiny World?  It is located on Rice Rd. about halfway between Shippensburg and Chambersburg.  It is just that - a tiny world.

Ernest Helm is the creator of this little town.  He is an older man that made this town "Just for something to do."  He started with a house for his cats.  It was just not a normal cat house, either.  It was a small scale Victorian house, complete with carpeted steps, for his cats to climb in.

From there, he continued building more tiny structures.  A barn, a gas station, a church, a general store, a schoolhouse, a courthouse to name a few.

You can visit this unique little town any time of the year.  At Christmas time, it is a large attraction complete with lights and other decorations.  He even has a display in a shed with animated figurines.
The sad thing about this little town is that it has fallen in disrepair.  There is a sign in the yard saying that Tiny World is closed for this year.  There will be no lights display.  It will re-open in November, 2011.
