A Way to Save

One of the things I have started to do to save is... when a recipe calls for some kind of cream of soup, I make my own. We have an endless supply of milk so it is rather easy. Make a white sauce and add cheese or bullion as a flavoring. We don't like cream of mushroom so I never use that anyhow. I think it makes your casserole or whatever you are making creamer anyhow. My family loves it! It is cheaper for me and doesn't have as much sodium as in a can of soup.

My Recipe
4 Tb.butter
4  Tb. flour
2 cups milk
salt and pepper to taste
cheese or 3 bullion cubes (either chicken or beef)
